Celebrity wedding the perfect event for small Portland Company!

Blumebox, based in NW Portland are making an impact on Hollywood stars.

Portland, Oregon, May 17, 2007 – The unique flower vases from blumebox are perfect for wedding and event centerpieces and are being personalized by dozens of florists across the country.

At the recent wedding of Alias star Kevin Weisman, an LA florist used 10in “pretty ‘n pink” blumeboxes filled with white roses as wedding favors for the guests. Each guest received one of these stunning bouquets with a note explaining a charitable donation made in their name by Weisman and his new bride Judy Tanowitz. InStyle Weddings magazine featured the table of blumebox bouquets in their fall 2005 edition.

Blumebox is a small Portland company and is the inspiration of Whitney Swindells and Wade Flanagan. They started the company after having a cleanout one Sunday afternoon and were amazed at how many glass vases they had accumulated, and after finding out they couldn’t recycle them in Oregon, decided there must be a better way. They eventually came up with blumebox, a recyclable vase that holds water, yet is made of cardboard.

With a recent re-branding, new summer colors due in May and the addition of an online store, blumebox are looking toward Mothers Day and the upcoming wedding season. Whitney Swindells said “its exciting seeing the beautiful bouquets customers and florists are creating and the amazement on peoples faces when they realize they’re a cardboard product, not ceramic”.
